ESET Security Review

ESET has a solid anti-malware engine, useful firewall settings, a password manager with form filling capabilities and browser protection and excellent security tools for networks. Its parental control along with its secure browser and anti-theft features are adequate, but nothing exceptional. It doesn’t include a VPN or microphone protection, however it does offer remote screen capture or camera access for a view of what a thief has been doing on your mobile or laptop.

The app has an attractive interface that is easy to understand and operate for beginners, but also provides details and advanced features for those who require it. The company also provides excellent customer support, which is accessible via their website or directly from the client through a “support” tab that is located all the way at the bottom of the application.

We were impressed by the fact that ESET Internet Security shows you the way it’s protecting your computer by showing a status bar near the top of the window and also provides you with complete protection statistics. If something major happens on your computer or you must take action, the software displays clear and concise messages on the desktop near the tray for system.

However the anti-phishing features of the antivirus were a bit over-vigilant and blocked quite a many websites that aren’t listed on PhishTank which I am confident in. The program also automatically checks USB storage devices once they are connected to our laptop. This was a bit uncomfortable, since many other antiviruses require permission.
